Microsoft will never reach out to you to provide unsolicited technical support. If you receive a pop-up or phone call claiming to be from Microsoft, it’s likely a scam.
Avoid clicking on pop-up links
Genuine Microsoft error messages do not include phone numbers or links to click. If you see a pop-up with a phone number or a link, do not click on it.
Do not call provided numbers
Scammers often include a phone number in the pop-up message urging you to call for support. Never call these numbers as they lead to fraudulent call centres.
