About the role

At Hume Bank, you’ll work directly with customers to understand their financial needs and provide tailored lending solutions.

You’ll be part of a customer-first team, focused on delivering outstanding service, fostering long-term relationships, and contributing to the bank’s growth in the local market and our home regions.

This full-time role is based at our Baylis Street branch in Wagga Wagga and supports the Riverina region.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A FSR Tier 2 Certificate (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a lending environment, such as a lender, personal banker, analyst, or similar role, would be highly valued
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to manage customer interactions seamlessly, from initial inquiry through to application and beyond
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to a supportive, productive, and collaborative team culture
  • Familiarity with current responsible lending legislation (desirable)

Our process

  • Once the role is closed, we review all applications against the requirements, creating a shortlist for further review.
  • If your application is successful, you may receive an initial screening call to further assess your suitability, before being invited to an interview.
  • We conduct two rounds of interviews, with the first interview being held with the supervisor and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second round interview with the head of the department.
  • The final stage is to compete some quick compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
