About the role
As the Learning and Development Manager at Hume Bank, you will design and deliver impactful learning programs that empower our people. Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, you’ll lead initiatives that build capability, boost performance, and support meaningful career growth across the organisation.
You’ll be a strategic partner, collaborating with people from all parts of the business to align learning initiatives with our broader goals. From compliance training and technical upskilling to leadership development and soft skills, your work will support our high-performing, people-first culture.
Working in partnership with key stakeholders and our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll align learning solutions with business goals. This role will oversee all aspects of the Hume Bank training compliance program, induction, qualifications and competency assessments to ensure that our people feel supported to thrive.
With one direct report, it’s an excellent opportunity for those looking to step into people leadership or further develop their team management skills in a supportive environment.
This is a full-time permanent position based at our Head Office in Albury, NSW. Flexible working arrangements, such as Working from Home are available when residing in the Albury area.
What you can expect
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of Hume Bank’s Learning and Development activities, aligning programs with business goals and workforce capability needs.
- Oversee compliance training, employee inductions, qualification programs, e-learning, and face-to-face learning initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders to identify skills gaps and capability development opportunities and translate these into effective learning opportunities.
- Oversee the administration and continuous development of Hume Bank’s Learning Management System (Moodle), ensuring it supports business-wide training needs.
- Oversight of Credit Assistance employees CPD completion.
- Nurture a culture of learning, feedback, and curiosity across the organisation.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Education, Organisational Development or a related field, and ideally have a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Experience in Learning and Development, Capability or Organisational Development roles.
- Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate impactful learning programs at an organisational level.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing learning operations including systems, compliance, and reporting.
- Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and e-learning tools.
- Familiarity with change management practices and how they intersect with learning strategies.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.

Our process
- Once the role is closed, we review all applications against the requirements, creating a shortlist for further review.
- If your application is successful, you may receive an initial screening call to further assess your suitability, before being invited to an interview.
- We conduct two rounds of interviews, with the first interview being held with the supervisor and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second-round interview with the head of the department.
- The final stage is to complete some quick compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
